** Brad Paisley is trending today as he’s the latest country star to join the world of reality TV. He’s signed on to the new ABC series Rising Star, a singing competition this summer that incorporates real-time voting via an app during the show. Contestants will be able to see how the votes are stacking up during their performances, with live tallies being shown to them while they’re performing, and they won’t progress in the competition unless their performance reaches a certain level of votes while they sing.
More details are expected when ABC presents their new TV schedule next week.
** Carrie Underwood & Miranda Lambert are trending today as they’re set to duet at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. No confirmation yet, but we expect them to debut their duet, “Something Bad,” from Lambert’s upcoming Platinum project. You’ll also see Luke Bryan & Florida Georgia Line performing on stage — the show airs Sunday, the 18th at 7p on ABC.
** The Band Perry are also trending today as their mega-hit “If I Die Young” has been certified quintuple platinum – that is five million copies sold, from their debut album released in 2010!
