Whenever I see real emotion, captured on video, I love it even more.
This video story from a few years ago is SO worth watching again.
It involves a couple (both artists) who ended their relationship by walking towards each other along the Great Wall of China 30 years ago. They hugged, turned the other way, and never saw each other again.
One half of the couple, Marina Abramovic, was presenting her piece “The Artist Is Present” in NYC in 2010. As part of the exhibit, she invited complete strangers to sit across from her in silence for sixty seconds.
Cameras then caught the exact moment her ex Frank Uwe Laysiepen (“Ulay” in the video) sat down.
